Dry Port Customs Office Merged with Birgunj Customs

The Sirsiya-based Dry Port Customs Office has officially been merged with the Birgunj Customs Office starting today. The newly integrated office has also begun offering unified services.

Background

Previously, the Integrated Check Post (ICP) operated under the Birgunj Customs Office, while the Dry Port Customs Office functioned separately. The dry port was primarily used for the import and export of goods via railway tracks.

The Integrated Check Post handles import and export of goods and products under foreign trade using freight vehicles.

Official Statement

According to Deepak Lamichhane, Chief Customs Administrator of Birgunj Customs Office, the merger was carried out based on a decision by the federal government.

Revenue Collection

In the last fiscal year alone, the Dry Port Customs Office had collected a total of NPR 49.82 billion in revenue.
