Durga Prasai Arrested

Durga Prasai and his bodyguard, Deepak Khadka, have been arrested.

Police found both of them in Assam, India, and arrested them there. According to a high-level police source, Khadka will also be brought to Kathmandu along with Prasai for further investigation.

“They were found together. Preparations are being made to bring both of them to Kathmandu,” the source told Media.

They are expected to be flown to Kathmandu from Chandragadhi Airport, Jhapa, on the 11:30 AM Buddha Air flight.

A team from Nepal Police’s Special Bureau and the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office went to India to arrest Prasai. Prasai was found in the Indian state of Assam on Thursday. However, Prasai’s secretariat claims that he surrendered himself to the Assam Police.

Prasai was the main commander of the pro-monarchy protest that took place in Tinkune on Chaitra 15 (March 28). Two people died during the violent protest led by him. After that, Prasai fled to India.
