An earthquake hit New Delhi, India, on Monday morning at 5:36 AM. According to India’s National Earthquake Monitoring Center, the earthquake had a magnitude of 4.
The epicenter was about five kilometers deep underground.
After the tremors shook Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged everyone to take safety precautions. He also instructed security officials to increase monitoring.
Delhi Police stated that everyone is safe and advised people to call emergency number 112 if they need help.
Former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi Singh wrote on X that she felt a strong jolt and prayed for everyone’s safety.
