A man jumped off the roof of his house in Kathmandu after being alarmed by an earthquake tremor. According to Nepal Police, the man, a resident of Syuchatar, sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at Manmohan Hospital. However, the police have not disclosed his identity.
At 6:50 AM today, a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7 struck near Dinggy Village in Shigatse, Tibet Autonomous Region, China. The tremors were felt in Nepal’s Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces. Residents of the Kathmandu Valley rushed outside in fear.
According to the police, 11 students from grades 7 and 8 of Trichandra Secondary School in Ward No. 1 of Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City, Bara, fainted during the tremors. Their health has since stabilized after treatment, and they have been discharged.
Police also reported damage to a police station building in Bhote Koshi Rural Municipality-4, Sindhupalchok, and a cattle shed in Ramechhap. Additionally, uninhabited houses in Okhaldhunga and Solukhumbu districts suffered damage.
