The title of the Koshi Provincial Open 10-kilometer race organized by the Eastern Command Headquarters of the Nepal Army in Itahari has been won by Saroj Limbu.
In the race held on the occasion of the 262nd Army Day, Limbu became the champion by completing the designated distance in 31 minutes and 48 seconds. Ocean Rai, who completed the distance 1 second later, secured second place. Yamraj Khatri finished third, completing the distance in 32 minutes and 12 seconds.
In the women’s category, Lutrimaya Biskarma finished first, completing the distance in 40 minutes and 40 seconds. Savitra Limbu finished second with a time of 41 minutes and 14 seconds, and Sudha Tamang finished third in 41 minutes and 36 seconds. The winners received cash prizes of 30,000 for first place, 25,000 for second place, and 20,000 for third place.
In the 3.2-kilometer boys’ category, Binod Rai became the champion by completing the distance in 11 minutes and 57 seconds. Subodh Dhakal and Parbat Parajuli secured second and third places with times of 12 minutes and 8 seconds and 12 minutes and 9 seconds, respectively. In the girls’ category, Reshma Darji finished first by completing the 2.5-kilometer distance in 11 minutes and 1 second.
