Egypt’s Space Agency (EGSA) has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the private Egyptian company Acmar to boost local satellite production and advance the country’s space sector.
Expanding Satellite Capabilities EGSA announced this agreement in a recent statement. Acmar is a specialized Egyptian company in satellite technology, and this partnership aims to strengthen Egypt’s satellite industry.
Goals of the Agreement The protocol, signed on Monday, focuses on enhancing satellite manufacturing and component production in Egypt. It also allows EGSA’s advanced infrastructure to be used for environmental, mechanical, and electrical testing of satellites.
Key Figures Involved EGSA’s CEO, Sherif Sedky, and Acmar’s CEO, Ahmed Nassar, attended the signing ceremony. EGSA described this initiative as a “new model of integration between Egypt’s research institutions and technology companies in the space sector.”
Boosting Satellite Operations The agreement covers satellite operations, the exchange of scientific and technical expertise, and satellite communication frequencies. It also supports the development of satellites for Internet of Things (IoT) services, telecommunications, and Earth imaging.
