The identity of the elderly woman who died in the Makhan Tol fire has been confirmed.
According to Kathmandu Police spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Apil Raj Bohora, the woman who died in the fire was 80-year-old Bishnu Adhikari from Kavrepalanchok.
The fire started this morning due to a gas leak in Dayaram Shrestha’s four-story mud and wood house, and it spread to a nearby five-story concrete house owned by Rukesh Shrestha. The fire was completely brought under control by 10:00 AM.
Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force worked together for nearly three hours to control the fire, with help from six fire trucks from various locations including Jhud Barun, Nepal Army, Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Ramhiti, and Balaju Industrial Area.
