It’s not uncommon to hear people, including Elon Musk, refer to X by its previous name, Twitter. In fact, Musk himself has done it. On Monday, while responding to a post about DOGE, the advisory group Musk leads focused on improving government efficiency, he made a comment about Twitter. He praised the platform for adding more features with fewer people.
This came after Musk had told federal employees to submit a report detailing their work accomplishments from the previous week, or risk job loss. However, an official later clarified that the reports were optional. The praise from the account Musk responded to mentioned how it “worked for Twitter.”
Musk’s occasional slip-up in calling X “Twitter” is not a rare occurrence and likely won’t be the last.
