Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh is once again under fire. After facing backlash over the trailer of Sardaar Ji 3, which features Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, he is now at the center of fresh demands from the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE).
FWICE Calls for Ban on Diljit Dosanjh
FWICE President BN Tiwari has accused Diljit of disrespecting Indian sentiments and insulting the sacrifices of Indian soldiers by working with a Pakistani actress. Although Diljit clarified in an interview that his scenes with Hania Aamir were shot before the Pahalgam attack, the controversy hasn’t cooled down.
Tiwari stated that Diljit’s collaboration with a Pakistani artist hurts the nation’s pride and called for a complete ban on his upcoming projects, including films, music, and other performances.
Not Just Sardaar Ji 3, Now Border 2
The controversy has now spilled over to Border 2, the much-anticipated sequel to Sunny Deol‘s patriotic hit. FWICE has urged T-Series Chairman Bhushan Kumar, director Imtiaz Ali, and actor-producer Sunny Deol to reconsider casting Diljit in the film.
According to FWICE, this isn’t just a one-time issue. They claim that Diljit’s collaboration with Hania Aamir is part of a repeated pattern that disregards the emotions of the Indian audience.
As calls grow louder, it remains to be seen how the makers of Border 2 will respond and whether Diljit will continue to be part of the film.
