After decades of isolation, Humla is finally on the verge of joining nepal’s national road network. prime minister KP Sharma Oli shared the update, highlighting it as a dream coming true for the people of this remote district.
The district headquarters Simikot will be connected to the road network within a few days. according to prime minister Oli, this marks the end of a 26-year wait for road access in Humla, the last district yet to be linked nationally.
Once the road becomes operational, Nepal will also be connected to China through the hilsa border in Humla. this development is expected to strengthen cross-border trade and connectivity with the neighboring country.
For residents of Humla, this road is more than infrastructure—it represents hope, access, and inclusion. after years of hardship due to poor transport, this project is set to improve daily life and bring growth to the region.
