Facebook has announced a new policy that will remove live videos older than 30 days starting Wednesday. Previously, these videos were stored indefinitely. Now, any live videos older than 30 days will be deleted automatically, and users will be notified before this happens.
Options for Users to Save Content in Facebook
Before the videos are deleted, users will have 90 days to decide what to do with their old live videos. They can choose to download the videos to their devices, transfer them to cloud storage, or even convert them into new Reels.
Extension and New Download Features
If users need more time to save their videos, they can postpone the deletion for up to six months. After this period, the videos will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. To help users keep their videos, Facebook is offering a new “Download Live Videos” option, allowing them to download all their old live content at once or transfer it to a cloud storage service like Dropbox or Google Drive.
