A 23-year-old man pretending to be a police inspector has been arrested in Bhaktapur for threatening and tricking people.
The man, Sujan Giri from Salpasilichho Rural Municipality in Bhojpur, wore a fake police uniform and even posted pictures of himself in uniform on Facebook to appear real.
According to Bhaktapur police spokesperson DSP Dhundiraj Neupane, Giri used his fake identity to scare the public. On the night of Jestha 6, he stood in front of Divyashwori Bhutu Restaurant in Madhyapur Thimi-2, claiming to be an inspector and showing off his fake photos.
He is now in custody at the Bhaktapur Thimi Police Office and is being investigated further.
