The victimโs family and locals have blocked the Janakpur-Jaleshwar road, demanding the arrest of those involved in a murder that took place on the day of Holi.
Locals have been protesting by blocking the road in Bindi, Ward No. 23 of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City. The road has been obstructed for three hours.
On Chaitra 2, during Holi celebrations, a dispute arose over a torn kurta, leading 21-year-old Dharmendra Mahato to call 15-year-old Ashu, son of Pappu Yadav, out of his house and stab him to death.
Dharmendra was arrested immediately after the incident. However, Rakesh Mahato, son of local Ramvaran Mahato, who provided the knife, and others who assisted in calling Ashu out of his house are still at large.
Two weeks after the incident, the police have yet to arrest them, prompting Ashuโs mother, Archana, along with locals, to block the road in protest.
Six months ago, Archanaโs husband, Pappu, also passed away. Losing her only son has left her without support.
According to Dhanusha Police spokesperson DSP Barun Bahadur Singh, Dharmendra stabbed Ashu in the chest, back, and stomach around 5 PM, leaving him critically injured. Ashu succumbed to his injuries at Janakpur Provincial Hospital around 6 PM.
The police arrested Dharmendra on the spot along with the knife.
According to Ashuโs aunt, Sangita Yadav, Dharmendra called Ashu out of his house and brutally stabbed him to death.
