A collision between a bus and a magic van on the East-West Highway at Lothar, Manahari Rural Municipality-6, on Friday morning resulted in the death of the van driver.
The accident occurred when a bus (Ba Pra 03006 Kha 5681) traveling from Chitwan to Hetauda and a magic van (Ba Pra 03001 Cha 3012) heading towards Lothar Bazaar from Manahari collided.
The van driver, 32-year-old Sandesh Koirala from Raksirang Rural Municipality-4, lost his life in the accident. According to the Area Police Office, Manahari, Koirala succumbed to his injuries on the way to Chitwan for treatment.
Koirala was the only person in the van at the time of the accident. Both vehicles were traveling at high speed. The police have taken the bus driver into custody.
