Found Dead in Bhaktapur

In a tragic incident, a father and son were found dead at a rented house in Balkot, Suryabinayak Municipality-2, Bhaktapur. The deceased has been identified as 56-year-old Kul Prasad Acharya and his 22-year-old son, Prabin Acharya, originally from Khotang district.

Kul Prasad worked as an assistant at the District Postal Office in Diktel, Khotang. According to Bhaktapur Police DSP Dhundiraj Neupane, he had recently come to Kathmandu for work at the postal department.

Kul Prasad’s two sons, Milan and Prabin, had been renting a flat with two rooms in Balkot for the past three years while pursuing their studies. Kul Prasad joined them in their rented flat during his visit to Kathmandu.

Last Saturday, Kul Prasad and his two sons had dinner together and went to bed. Their flat, which has four rooms, is shared with other tenants who occupy the remaining two rooms.

On Sunday morning, the room occupied by Kul Prasad and his sons was found locked from the outside. The other tenants assumed they had gone out. However, when there was no sign of activity throughout Sunday and Monday morning, they informed the police.

Police arrived at the scene, broke the lock, and discovered the father and younger son dead in separate rooms. According to DSP Neupane, both had severe head injuries, and the police suspect they were killed similarly.

The elder son, Milan, who had slept in the same flat on Saturday, is missing and currently untraceable. Police have launched a search operation for him and are investigating the case further.

The incident is under investigation, and authorities are working on collecting evidence from the scene.
