Film Rajaganj Premieres in Janakpur


The film Rajaganj, shot in Janakpur, had its Janakpur premiere at Girija Hall, which has a seating capacity of 600. The premiere was held with a red carpet event, attended by the film’s production team, the mayor of Janakpur, and high-ranking police officials.

Janakpurdham Mayor Manoj Kumar Shah, SP Bhuvaneshwar Tiwari, and acting chairman of the Madhesh Province Film Development Board, Ashok Dutt, were present at the event. Additionally, human rights activists, social advocates, and actors from Janakpur involved in the film watched it alongside the production team.

Director Dipak Rauniyar and lead actress Asha Magarati were present at the premiere, along with Janakpur-based actors Aarti Mandal, Suraj Yadav, Rinku Gayatri Mishra, Parmeshwar Jha, Madan Thakur, Saroj Mishra, Ghanshyam Mishra, and others.

After watching the film, many praised the lead character, Puja Sir. One female viewer, attending the screening on the occasion of the 115th International Women’s Day, remarked, “We women must be as courageous, passionate, and fearless as Puja Sir. Women today are not weak.”

The film, which was previously showcased under the name Puja Sir at international film festivals, is set to release across Nepal on Chaitra 1 under the title Rajaganj.

Film Team on a Nationwide Premiere Tour

Having already been featured at prestigious international film festivals such as Venice and Busan, the film’s production team is now on a nationwide tour to premiere the movie. The team has already held screenings in Birtamod, Itahari, and Janakpur, with upcoming premieres planned in Birgunj, Chitwan, and finally, Kathmandu.
