Filmmaker Sanoj Mishra, known for offering a film role to Monalisa, the viral girl from Maha Kumbh, has been arrested in a rape case. The 47-year-old director was taken into custody on Monday in Delhi after being accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting an aspiring actress.
According to reports, the victim, a small-town girl, met Mishra through social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram in 2020 while she was living in Jhansi. After several conversations, Mishra invited her to meet him on June 17, 2021, at Jhansi railway station. When she refused, Mishra allegedly threatened to commit suicide, which forced her to agree to meet him the next day.
On June 18, the filmmaker reportedly took her to a resort where he sexually assaulted her after giving her intoxicants. The victim has claimed that Mishra filmed the assault and threatened to release the videos if she protested. Over time, he allegedly continued to assault her, promising marriage and movie roles.
