Financial Crisis at Hetauda Cement Due to Halted Production

Hetauda Cement Industry has fallen into a financial crisis after production was halted due to broken equipment. The financial problem has worsened since production stopped on Ashoj 15.

Even though production has ceased, administrative expenses, employee salaries, allowances, and fuel costs have continued to increase, acknowledged the industry’s senior management.

Chairperson of the Industrial Management Committee, Narendra Bhandari, stated that preparations are underway to resume production as soon as the equipment is repaired.

Repairs are delayed as technicians have to be brought from India. However, the industry has sufficient raw materials. “We do not lack raw materials,” said Chairperson Bhandari, adding, “We have a stockpile of 400 metric tons of coal needed for the industry.”

The industry had also been shut down for two months previously due to financial constraints. After resuming production in the third week of Bhadra, it produced 65,000 bags of cement during that period.
