A fire broke out this morning at the residence of the District Administration Office in Mustang, leaving one person injured. The fire occurred in the old building of the administration office in Jomsom, injuring Police Constable Khem Prasad Tiwari, who was the security guard of the Chief District Officer.
Assistant Chief District Officer Ram Prasad Subedi stated that Tiwari, who suffered burns on his hands and fingers, has been sent to Pokhara for treatment. According to him, Tiwari’s condition is not critical. The room where Constable Tiwari was sleeping and its contents were completely destroyed in the fire.
After the fire broke out, Tiwari escaped by jumping out of the window. Police, staff, and local residents worked together to bring the fire under control. Assistant CDO Subedi said that an initial assessment suggests the fire might have been caused by an electrical short circuit.
