A fire broke out at Khadka Furniture located in the bus park area of Arjundhara Municipality-11, Jhapa. Police reported that property worth around 1.2 million rupees was damaged in the incident.

The fire started in a one-story furniture shop operated in a tin-roofed and tin-walled house owned by Moti Bahadur Khadka. Police said the fire completely destroyed wooden materials and a wood-cutting machine.

After being informed about the fire, a police team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Norjang Lama from the temporary police post at the bus park rushed to the scene. With the help of locals and a fire truck from Birtamod Municipality, they managed to extinguish the fire around 12:30 AM.

The exact cause of the fire is still unknown, but it is suspected to have started due to an electrical short circuit.
