A fire broke out at Khadka Furniture, located in the bus park area of Arjundhara Municipality-11, Jhapa. The fire caused damage worth approximately Rs 12 lakh, according to police reports. The shop, run by Moti Bahadur Khadka, operated from a one-story structure made of tin roofing and walls. The blaze completely destroyed wooden materials and a wood-cutting machine.
Upon receiving the alert, a team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Norjang Lama from the temporary police post at the bus park rushed to the scene. With the help of locals and a fire truck from Birtamod Municipality, the fire was brought under control around 12:30 AM. The cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed, but an electrical short circuit is suspected.
