At CinemaCon, the highly anticipated third installment of the Avatar series was unveiled, offering fans their first look at Avatar 3: Fire and Ash. The movie is set to hit theaters on December 19, 2025, bringing back familiar faces and introducing new ones, along with a fresh chapter in the epic tale of Pandora.

The first footage from Avatar: Fire and Ash showcased the breathtaking visuals of Pandora, revealing two new Na’vi tribes. The action-packed scene kicks off with a fierce aerial battle between the tribes, which ends with the death of a Na’vi warrior. In a heart-wrenching moment, Jake Sully comforts his partner, Neytiri, with the words, “We cannot live like this, baby. We cannot live with this hate.” The preview promises even more drama and emotion in this new chapter.

Returning for Avatar 3 are Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, Zoe Saldaña as Neytiri, Stephen Lang, Sigourney Weaver, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Dileep Rao, Matt Gerald, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, and Jemaine Clement. The movie will also introduce fresh faces, with David Thewlis and Oona Chaplin joining the cast in brand new roles.

The Avatar franchise, which began with James Cameron’s 2009 blockbuster, tells the story of Jake Sully, a paraplegic former Marine who uses an Avatar to explore the alien world of Pandora. There, he bonds with Neytiri, a Na’vi woman, and becomes deeply involved in the conflict between the Na’vi and human invaders. The film received widespread acclaim, earning a 7.9 rating on IMDb.

The sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water, was released in 2022 and continued Jake and Neytiri’s journey as they defend their new family against a vengeful enemy. It also scored a 7.9 IMDb rating, maintaining the series’ legacy of captivating visuals and emotional depth.
