Bride and Groom Among Five Injured in Makwanpur Road Accident

A bus and a car collided at Sunachuri, Manahari Rural Municipality-6, Makwanpur, along the East-West Highway, injuring five people, including a newlywed couple.

The accident happened at around 3:30 AM on Wednesday when a car (BaE 1147) traveling from Biratnagar to Kathmandu and a bus (BaPra 01-006 Kha 5773) heading from Kathmandu to Birgunj crashed into each other.

The injured include 28-year-old groom Yasbaraj Adhikari, 22-year-old bride Shraddha Dahal, 23-year-old Pushpa Adhikari, 23-year-old Trishu Thapa, and driver Yatiraj Adhikari. They were immediately taken to Bharatpur for treatment.

According to the police, all the injured are out of danger. The accident occurred while the couple was returning to Kavre after their wedding in Biratnagar. Both vehicles were damaged in the collision. The bus driver, 41-year-old Bir Bahadur Lama from Nuwakot, is in police custody.
