As of the end of Chaitra 2081, Nepal has recorded over 3.13 million fixed broadband internet users, according to the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA). Back in Shrawan 2081, the total number of users was 2.9 million, meaning 227,385 new users were added in just nine months. This growth was largely driven by major ISPs like WorldLink, Websurfer, Vianet, WiFi Nepal, and Dish Media, all of whom expanded their customer base significantly during this period.
WorldLink became Nepal’s first ISP to cross the one million user milestone, growing from 931,099 to 1,000,931 users within nine months. Websurfer followed with strong growth, adding over 48,000 users to reach 186,667. Meanwhile, Vianet added 35,884 users, WiFi Nepal doubled its user base by gaining 30,791, and DishHome added 22,569, especially during the month of Magh. While ISPs like ClassicTech, Subisu, and Broadlink saw modest increases, Nepal Telecom only added 1,934 new users despite being the second-largest provider. On the downside, smaller ISPs like Arrownet, Connect Nepal, and Fiber World lost thousands of users during the same period.
