Due to heavy rainfall, the Dumkibas–Daunne section of the East-West (Mahendra) Highway in eastern Nawalparasi has been severely impacted. Floodwaters damaged a diversion over the Binayi River, making the road muddy and dangerous.
According to police, areas like Bishwakarma Temple and Ghyukhola have become especially slippery. Vehicles are getting stuck or sliding off, increasing the risk of accidents and traffic jams.
The District Police Office has urged travelers to avoid this route for now and instead use one of the following four alternative paths:
Recommended Alternative Routes for Travel:
- From East to West: Use the Narayangadh–Muglin–Pokhara–Syangja–Butwal route.
- From Kathmandu to West: Take the Muglin–Pokhara–Syangja–Butwal route.
- From West to East: Follow the Butwal–Syangja–Pokhara–Muglin path.
- For Small Vehicles Only: Travel via the Gaindakot–Pipaldanda road under the Kaligandaki Corridor after checking conditions.
