What Happened?
Guo Jiaxuan was playing with the Beijing U-20 men’s football team on February 6, 2025, against the Spanish team RC Alcobendas in Madrid. During the match, he collided with another player and suffered a severe head injury, which led to a brain hemorrhage.
Guo fell into a coma after the injury and was rushed to a hospital in Madrid. Unfortunately, doctors declared him brain dead. His family was then informed that there was little hope for his recovery. He was later moved to Beijing Tiantan Hospital, where he passed away on March 19, 2025.
