Four Arrested, Including an Indian National, for Criminal Activities in Nepal and India
Among those arrested are 45-year-old Indal, also known as Indra Narayan Chaudhary, from Sukhipur Municipality-8, Siraha; 31-year-old Bhairav, also known as Dev Kumar Mukhiya; 41-year-old Dinesh Bishwakarma from Lahan Municipality-4; and an Indian national, Niroj, also known as Mehraj Mondal, from Bhagbatipur-7, Gram Panchayat, Hooghly District, West Bengal.
According to DSP Birendra Kumar Paswan, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Siraha, they were arrested based on secret information while planning a robbery at Bikash Traders (a gold and silver shop) in Lahan Bazar, Lahan Municipality-7, on Tuesday.
DSP Paswan stated that the District Court of Siraha has extended their custody for further investigation.
According to the police, the arrested individuals were involved in operating a criminal group, known as the ‘D Group,’ engaging in robbery, kidnapping, and extortion in both Nepal and India. Indian authorities have also arrested four individuals from the same group.
