Police have arrested four people, including a husband and wife, on charges of theft.
The arrested individuals are 24-year-old Bikas Gharti (also known as Pradeep) from Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-1, 41-year-old Sadan Sunar from Ghorahi-15, 32-year-old Bikram Chaudhary from Ghorahi-15, and 25-year-old Pratiksha KC from the same area.
The police arrested them on Wednesday. According to the police, Gharti is the main thief, while Chaudhary and KC were involved in selling the stolen goods. Sunar was the buyer. Among them, Chaudhary and KC are husband and wife.
Police spokesperson Chakra Bahadur Shah stated that on February 27 (15th Falgun), Gharti stole from the house of Geeta Pun Oli in Ghorahi-1. The stolen items were later sold to Sunar through Chaudhary and KC. Sunar is a goldsmith by profession.
Police recovered NPR 222,665 and a gold necklace from Chaudhary’s house. From Sunar’s room, they found a modified gold earring, a ring, and a small gold necklace.
