G-Dragon’s agency has issued an apology after the BIGBANG member arrived over an hour late to his concert, sparking frustration among fans. According to Soompi, the delay was attributed to “worsening weather conditions,” with the agency citing safety concerns related to using the stage equipment in such conditions.
The rapper and fashion icon, whose real name is Kwon Ji-Young, was photographed leaving the Chanel Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2025 show during Paris Fashion Week on January 28, 2025. His concert in Goyang Stadium on March 29, part of his Ubermensch world tour, faced delays due to severe weather, including subzero temperatures, snow, and strong winds.
Earlier in the day, Coupang Play, the concert’s organizer, informed attendees that the show would be delayed by 30 minutes. However, it ultimately started 73 minutes later than scheduled. Fans were unhappy with the extended wait, especially as the concert was held outdoors.
In a statement released the following day, G-Dragon’s agency, Galaxy Corporation, explained the situation: “Due to worsening weather, including severe winds, the concert was initially delayed for safety reasons. This delay was later extended due to the ongoing weather issues,” the statement read.
The agency also shared that G-Dragon had been monitoring the weather throughout the day, from his afternoon soundcheck to his pre-show rehearsal. “Despite the difficult conditions, the delay was necessary to ensure the safety of everyone at the venue,” the statement continued. “We sincerely thank our fans for their patience and once again apologize for the wait in the cold.”
The artist will perform again at Goyang Stadium on Sunday for the second leg of his Ubermensch tour.
