Gandaki Province has entered the finals by defeating Tribhuwan Army Club in the men’s category of the ongoing Ncell 5th Tiger Cup National and International Volleyball Tournament in Pokhara.
In the second qualifier held at Pokhara Stadium on Saturday, Gandaki secured a place in the final by defeating Army with a 3-1 set victory.
Gandaki won the first set 25-16, but Army took the second set 25-22. However, Gandaki, the previous runner-up, made a strong comeback in the third and fourth sets to reach the final. Gandaki claimed the third set 25-15 and the fourth set 25-19.
Now, Gandaki will compete against Nepal Police Club for the title on Sunday. The Army, having lost to Gandaki, settled for third place and will receive a cash prize of NPR 185,555.
Earlier on Saturday, in the women’s second qualifier, the host team Tiger Group reached the final by defeating Tiptop New Diamond Sports with a 3-1 set victory. The host team will now compete against APF Club for the title on Sunday.
