In a tough blow to Juventus, defender Federico Gatti is set to miss a month of action following a calf bone fracture sustained during the team’s 1-0 Serie A victory over Genoa. The injury occurred in the first half after a clash with Genoa striker Andrea Pinamonti, who unintentionally kicked Gatti’s leg as he missed the ball.
Injury Details and Recovery Plans
Tests revealed that Federico, 26, suffered a compound fracture of the fibula, which will require time for recovery. Despite the setback, Gatti is determined to make a swift return and continue supporting Juventus’ bid for a Champions League spot next season.
“I will do everything I can to be back on the field as soon as possible,” Federico said in an Instagram post. “I want to stay close to my teammates during this crucial time of the season.”
Pinamonti Apologizes for the Incident
Genoa’s Pinamonti, who was involved in the injury, took to social media to express his regret, offering a heartfelt apology to Gatti.
“I’m so sorry for your injury, I wish you a speedy recovery, and hope you return to the field soon,” Pinamonti wrote on Instagram.
Juventus’ Champions League Ambitions
With Gatti sidelined, Juventus will need to continue their push for a Champions League spot. They are currently in 5th place, just one point behind 4th-placed Bologna as they prepare for an upcoming match against Roma this Sunday.
