Gemini Now Offers Free Video Chat – Unlike ChatGPT’s $20 Feature

Google has launched a new video chat feature in its Gemini AI tool, and the best part is—it’s completely free for all users. This update means anyone can now talk to Gemini using live video without paying anything.

Previously, OpenAI’s ChatGPT had a similar feature, but it required a $20 monthly ChatGPT Plus subscription. In contrast, Google has made this advanced video chat feature available to everyone at no cost, making AI interaction more accessible.

When using video chat with Gemini, your device’s camera turns on and shows the live scene on your screen. You can ask questions about what the camera sees. Even if you don’t ask anything, Gemini can recognize the object and explain it to you directly.

To try this, open the Gemini app on your phone. If there’s an update, make sure to install it. Then tap the three-line menu at the bottom right. From there, you’ll reach the Gemini Live page. At the bottom left, select the video icon to start a video chat.

By default, your rear camera will open. You can point it anywhere, and Gemini will analyze what it sees and give you helpful information. It works just like asking questions to a person over a video call—only this time, it’s with AI.

There’s also a screen sharing option available. If you face a technical issue or want tips, you can share your screen with Gemini and get real-time guidance. This feature can help you solve problems quickly using visual support from the app.

With these tools, Gemini is making powerful AI interaction easier and free—something users had to pay for elsewhere.
