Gigi Hadid recently shared a heartwarming glimpse into her life as a mom, recounting a fun-filled night she spent with her daughter, Khai, at Medieval Times in New Jersey. Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the model opened up about how much her 4-year-old, whom she shares with singer Zayn Malik, enjoyed the experience.
“Khai was so into it,” Hadid told Fallon, explaining that they prepared for the outing ahead of time by watching videos. “The night before, I told Khai, ‘This is going to be really cool — we should dress up!’ We went on YouTube to check out what Medieval Times was all about.”
While the lively event delivered all the excitement you’d expect — swords, knights, and medieval drama — it was the food that stole Khai’s heart. Hadid laughed as she recalled her daughter’s surprising highlight: the chicken.
“You can cook a hundred meals for kids during the week, and somehow the Medieval Times chicken ends up being their favorite,” she said, joking that Khai couldn’t get enough of it. “She ate so much chicken!”
Hadid admitted she wasn’t sure how Khai would react to all the swords and theatrics, but her daughter dove right into the experience with no hesitation. Khai even embraced dressing up for the occasion, fully living out her princess fantasy. Hadid, meanwhile, kept her own look low-key, joking that she played the role of “keeper of hand sanitizer, wipes, and crayons” rather than going for an elaborate costume.
Gigi and Zayn welcomed Khai in September 2020 after several years of an on-and-off relationship that began in 2016. Although they separated in 2021 following a reported altercation involving Gigi’s mother, Yolanda Hadid, they have since focused on co-parenting.
In a previous interview with Vogue, Hadid talked about maintaining a positive dynamic with Malik, emphasizing that they share “a sense of love and camaraderie” as they raise Khai. She acknowledged that living under the public eye can be challenging, but said that their priority remains creating a loving and respectful environment for their daughter.
