Police have arrested five individuals, including a minor, in connection with the murder of a woman in Gokarneshwor, Kathmandu.
According to Apil Raj Bohara, the spokesperson for the Kathmandu District Police Range, those arrested include Kailash Khadka from Dunghekhola, Bagmati, Sarlahi; Suresh Tamang from Shikharpani, Hetauda, Makawanpur; Roshan Tamang from Meghang, Nuwakot; Puja Pariyar from Tipeni, Sindhupalchok; and a minor.
On Falgun 24 at 11:50 AM, the body of a woman, estimated to be around 30 to 35 years old, was found submerged in the Bagmati River inside a sack near NAMI College in Gokarneshwar Municipality-7, Kathmandu. A police team from the Baudha Police Circle was deployed to the scene, and the body was sent to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, for a post-mortem examination.
During the preliminary investigation, these individuals were found to be involved in the murder. A police team, including personnel from the Kathmandu District Police Range, arrested them from various locations within the valley. The Kathmandu District Court has granted a six-day extension for further investigation, according to the police.
