Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets in a low-scoring game on a slow, black-soil pitch at Hyderabad. With this, SRH recorded their fourth consecutive loss in IPL 2025.
Gujarat Titans Siraj Dismantles SRH Top Order
Mohammed Siraj was the star with the ball for GT, picking up career-best IPL figures of 4 for 17. He struck early in the powerplay, dismissing Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. Siraj also reached his 100th IPL wicket and now holds the most powerplay wickets this season with an economy of just 6.27.

SRH Batting Falters Again
SRH struggled to get going, hitting their first six only in the 13th over. Pat Cummins added some late fireworks with an unbeaten 22 off 9 balls, helping SRH reach 152/8.
Sai Kishore Shines, Rashid Struggles
Left-arm spinner R Sai Kishore of Gujarat Titans impressed with his control, dismissing Klaasen and Reddy, finishing with 2 for 24. In contrast, Rashid Khan went wicketless once again, giving away 31 runs in his four overs.
Washington’s Powerplay Assault
GT promoted Washington Sundar to No. 4, and he didn’t disappoint. He smashed 23 off just 9 balls in the powerplay, including two sixes and two fours off Simarjeet. His quick cameo gave GT the momentum they needed in the chase.
Gujarat Titans: Gill Anchors the Chase
Captain Shubman Gill remained unbeaten on 61 off 43 balls, calmly guiding GT to victory. He was well supported by Sherfane Rutherford, who chipped in with a quick 35* off 16 balls.
SRH’s Bowling Effort Not Enough
Though Cummins managed to dismiss Buttler for a duck, SRH couldn’t contain the Titans on a pitch that offered little help to the bowlers after the powerplay.
GT’s smart bowling changes and aggressive batting at key moments helped them secure a much-needed win and keep their playoff hopes alive.
