With the excitement surrounding Avengers: Doomsday and whispers of a second season of Hawkeye, Hailee Steinfeld has sparked fresh hope among fans eager to see her back as Kate Bishop. In a recent interview, Steinfeld expressed a strong desire to continue her journey within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), emphasizing how much the role means to her.
Speculation is also heating up that the Dickinson star could have a role in Avengers: Doomsday. Steinfeld made her MCU debut in Disney+‘s Hawkeye (2021), portraying the sharp-shooting protégé to Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton. Her performance was met with critical acclaim and instantly won over audiences.
Although Kate Bishop hasn’t had major screen time since, she did make a brief but notable appearance in the 2023 film The Marvels. In the post-credits scene, Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel hints at assembling a new team of young superheroes, laying the groundwork for future adventures. The Marvels also starred Brie Larson, Zawe Ashton, Teyonah Parris, Park Seo-joon, and others.
Reflecting on her experience as Kate, Steinfeld shared her excitement about returning to the role in a recent Backstage interview. She spoke about the rare opportunity to evolve with a character inside such an expansive universe, describing Kate as “deeply lovable.”
“I’m excited about the idea of continuing to grow with a character like Kate, especially in something as huge as the Marvel Cinematic Universe,” Steinfeld said.
She added, “You get to go back to your family; you get to go back to that little home that then becomes part of this grander picture. I love that character, and I totally understand why she is so loved.”
Marvel Studios has yet to officially confirm Steinfeld’s involvement in Avengers: Doomsday. However, with Marvel’s continued focus on developing its roster of young heroes, fans are optimistic about her return.
