On Monday, victims of a cooperative scam staged a half-naked protest at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu.
They carried placards with slogans such as “Our protest is not a choice but a necessity” and “Don’t mistake our patience for weakness.”
The victims, who lost their savings due to mismanagement in cooperative institutions, have been protesting on the streets for months. They are demanding the return of their savings, even if it means seizing the property of the cooperative’s management. However, the government has not addressed their demands.
