Health and Population Minister Pradeep Poudel has presented an action plan for improving health insurance to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
The report, prepared under the leadership of the Ministry’s Additional Secretary Deependra Raman Singh, was handed over to the Prime Minister by Minister Poudel on Wednesday.
Based on the action plan, the government is preparing to improve the health insurance system through a cabinet meeting.
Minister Poudel has mentioned that the government is planning to increase the health insurance coverage to NPR 500,000.
The report presented to the Prime Minister also includes provisions to extend the health insurance coverage to NPR 500,000.
If the cabinet approves the decision, the process of amending the Health Insurance Act will proceed during the next session of Parliament.
