The recently released Nepali film ‘Hello Kashi Ram’, starring veteran actor Dilip Rayamajhi, has officially turned out to be a box office disaster. The film failed to attract audiences, with extremely low ticket sales throughout its run.
Shocking Box Office Numbers: Only 110 Viewers
According to Nepal Film Development Board, the film earned just Rs. 26,900 in its entire theatrical run. That means only 110 people watched the film in cinemas, making it one of the lowest-performing films in recent memory.
Released Alongside ‘Ghar Number 2’
‘Hello Kashi Ram’ was released on Jestha 2 alongside another Nepali film, ‘Ke Ghar Ke Dera: Ghar Number 2’. Unfortunately, neither film managed to impress at the box office.
‘Ghar Number 2’, despite having a star-studded cast, could only collect Rs. 57.7 lakhs in lifetime gross—far below expectations for a big release.
Cast and Crew Details
‘Hello Kashi Ram’ was written and directed by Rim Bishwakarma, with Dilip Rayamajhi as the lead and Priyanka Karki in a special appearance. However, star power alone wasn’t enough to save the film.
On the other hand, ‘Ghar Number 2’ was directed by Dipendra K. Khanal and featured popular names like Aaryan Sigdel, Khagendra Lamichhane, Nischal Basnet, Keki Adhikari, and Upasana Singh Thakuri.
Audience Disconnect Despite Big Names
Both films had familiar faces and capable directors, but failed to connect with audiences. The weak box office turnout signals a need for better storytelling, marketing, and audience engagement in upcoming Nepali releases.
