TV actor Hiba Nawab has officially announced her exit from the popular show Jhanak, confirming that she will not be part of the story after the upcoming leap. The decision comes as the show prepares to shift focus to a new generation of characters, including the grown-up daughter of Hiba’s character.
In an exclusive statement, Hiba shared, “I won’t be a part of the show after the leap. I am not comfortable playing a mother to someone closer to my age. There were discussions, and we somehow knew it was happening, but the confirmation came a few days ago.”
After the leap, the show will center around Arshi — the daughter of Jhanak and Aniruddha — and a new lead will be introduced, likely someone around Hiba’s own age. “How can I play a mother to someone my age? I am not comfortable,” she emphasized.
During her time on Jhanak, Hiba also had to deal with online negativity. She admitted that harsh criticism affected her confidence. “The criticism affected my confidence as a performer. This was the first time I really faced so many negative comments. I used to scroll through social media and just wonder why it’s happening,” she said.
Despite the challenges, Hiba is looking ahead with optimism. She’ll be wrapping up her shoot in the first week of June and plans to take a short break before choosing her next project. While she remains open to both television and OTT roles, she made it clear that she has boundaries.
“I’ve been approached for bold scenes, and I’ve had to refuse. I am clear that I don’t want to be a part of something I’m not comfortable with or wear something revealing on screen,” she shared.
Fans may be sad to see her leave Jhanak, but Hiba’s honesty and clarity about her choices continue to win admiration from many.
