Bagmati Province has launched a QR code system for vehicle bluebooks. This means vehicle owners no longer need to carry the physical bluebook. The digital version with a QR code is available only for vehicles registered in Bagmati Province.
Simple steps to get your digital bluebook QR code
First, go to the official website of the Ministry of Labour, Employment, and Transport of Bagmati Province.
On the homepage, click on the “Bluebook QR” option under the “Our Services” section. Enter your mobile number on the next page, complete the captcha, and enter the OTP you receive via SMS.
Then, a form called “New Bluebook QR Request Form” will open. Fill in the required vehicle details like plate number, lot number, symbol number, vehicle number, type, brand, model, manufacture date, engine details, color, fuel type, seat count, and more. You also need to add registration and renewal dates, which you can find in your physical bluebook.
Provide personal details like citizenship number, national ID number (if any), and date of birth.
Upload documents and book an appointment
Take clear photos of your bluebook pages and a recent photo of yourself, then upload them. After that, choose a suitable date to visit the transport office and confirm your appointment.
Visit the office and receive your QR code
Once your application is submitted successfully, visit the selected transport office with your original bluebook and ID (citizenship or license) on the booked date. Staff will verify your documents, and if everything is correct, you’ll receive a QR code link on your mobile. You can save or print this digital bluebook.
Benefits and current service status
With this digital QR code, you won’t need to carry your physical bluebook anymore. According to Govindraj Shivakoti, the spokesperson at Gurjudhara Transport Office, the service is still in the early phase and the offices are not crowded. Staff are ready to help users quickly.
Just like carrying a driving license on your phone became easy, now the same is happening with bluebooks. This service is expected to make government processes faster and more user-friendly. Interested vehicle owners can apply online now.
