Hyundai Motor Company’s electric vehicle, the IONIQ 5 N TA Spec, has set a new benchmark in EV performance. The car recorded the fastest lap time at the Tsukuba Circuit in Ibaraki, Japan, during the ‘Attack Tsukuba 2025’ motorsport event held on February 15.
Professional Japanese driver Nobuteru Taniguchi drove the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N TA Spec, completing a lap in just 57.446 seconds. This achievement makes it the fastest EV to race on the Tsukuba Circuit, beating competitors by nearly two seconds.
Taniguchi expressed his excitement, saying, “I feel honored to have driven the Ioniq 5 N at Attack Tsukuba. This car helped me break my previous record.”
