The recently released film Nadaaniyan, starring Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor, has faced harsh criticism online. Social media users have mocked the acting performances, particularly those of Ibrahim and Khushi, as well as the film’s dialogue. Despite the backlash, Ibrahim Ali Khan seems unshaken and has found a way to respond.
Ibrahim Shares Disappointing IMDb Rating
On Monday, Ibrahim re-shared a fan’s Instagram story showcasing the film’s low IMDb rating. The screenshot highlighted a dismal 4.5/10 rating, along with the percentage of users who rated the film between 6 and 10 stars. Interestingly, the image left out the lower ratings under 6, and the fan’s post claimed that “almost 75% gave it 10 stars on IMDb.” Ibrahim re-shared this post on his own Instagram, but it has since been deleted, though it remains in the highlights section on the fan page titled “Ibrahim noticed.”

Confusion Over IMDb Rating
While the fan claimed that 75% of IMDb users rated Nadaaniyan 10/10, the film’s actual rating is a modest 4.8/10. Reddit users quickly pointed out the contradiction, asking how the film could have such a low score despite so many 10/10 ratings. The answer lies in IMDb’s voting system, which uses a weighted algorithm to prevent “unusual voting activity” from skewing the results. As a result, votes are not counted equally, and the final rating reflects a more reliable average.
About Nadaaniyan
Nadaaniyan, which marks Ibrahim Ali Khan‘s acting debut, has garnered mixed reactions from both critics and audiences. While some viewers have praised the performances, the film’s dialogue has been widely criticized, especially on social media. Written by Ishita Moitra, who worked on films like Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani and Half Girlfriend, the film’s script has faced ridicule for its awkward lines. Despite the lukewarm reception, the film’s debut has put Ibrahim in the spotlight, even if it’s for the wrong reasons.
