In the first semifinal of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Australia has decided to bat first against India. The match will take place on Tuesday in Dubai, UAE. Australian captain Steve Smith won the toss and chose to set a target for India.
Both teams have remained unbeaten in the tournament so far. India topped Group A with three wins in three matches, while Australia finished as the runner-up in Group B. However, Australia won only one match, as two of their group-stage games were canceled due to rain.
Since the 2011 ODI World Cup quarterfinal, India and Australia have faced each other four times in ICC tournaments, each winning twice. India defeated Australia in the league stages of the 2019 and 2023 World Cups. Meanwhile, Australia triumphed in the 2015 World Cup semifinal and the 2023 World Cup final.
The winner of this match will move on to the final to compete against the victor of the South Africa vs. New Zealand semifinal.
