Identity revealed of man killed at Madhuganga Mahadev Temple in Sindhuli

The identity of the man who was murdered at Madhuganga Mahadev Temple in Dudhauli Municipality–2, Sindhuli, has been confirmed. The victim was identified as Pankaj Kumar Bhagat, a pilgrim from Bhavdepur–11, Sitamarhi, India.

His brother, Ranjit Bhagat, confirmed the identity at Sindhuli Hospital, according to District Police Chief Lal Dhwoj Subedi.

According to the police, the incident occurred during a dispute among a group of Indian pilgrims who had come for temple worship. Pankaj was killed on Monday using sharp weapons during the altercation.

Police recovered a “chuppi” (knife) and “khurpa” (sickle-like tool) from the temple area at Lamidanda, Dudhauli–2. Initial investigation suggests that the attackers may also be Indian nationals. A search is underway to locate the suspects.
