Vaidehi Chaudhari from Ahmedabad played her first match of the tournament and gave India a strong start. She faced Ho Ching Wu and won the first set after a close tiebreak of 10-8. In the second set, she played even better and finished with a 7-6 (10-8), 6-1 victory. Her match lasted 2 hours and 3 minutes, helping India take a 1-0 lead.
Shrivalli Bhamidipaty Maintains Her Winning Record
In the second singles match, Shrivalli Bhamidipaty continued her excellent form. She played against Hong Yi Cody Wong and won after a tough three-set battle. Shrivalli took the first set in a tiebreak 8-6. Although she lost the second set, she came back strong to win the third set. She hit 8 aces and secured a 7-6, 2-6, 6-3 victory. This win gave India an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the tie.
Ankita Raina and Prarthana Thombare Lose in Close Doubles Match
In the doubles match, Ankita Raina and Prarthana Thombare fought hard against Eudice Chong and Hong Yi Cody Wong. The Indian pair won the first set in a tiebreak. However, the Hong Kong team bounced back to win the second set. The match was very close, but Hong Kong managed to win the final set, finishing the match at 7-6, 3-6, 11-13.
