Indian Ambulance Caught Smuggling 180 Kg Marijuana in Sunsari

An Indian number plate ambulance was found smuggling marijuana.

Police have seized an Indian-registered ambulance carrying marijuana from Ramdhuni Municipality-6 in Sunsari district.

Acting on a special tip-off, police intercepted the ambulance around 9 PM on Baisakh 20 (May 2), suspecting it was being used to smuggle drugs.

A joint police team from the Itahari Area Police Office, as well as from Dharan, Pakali, and Ramdhuni, was deployed to check vehicles on highways and inner roads. During the operation, they stopped an ambulance with the number BR 38 P 5414 in Ramdhuni-6, Pidari, and discovered 180 kilograms of marijuana hidden in six sacks.

Following the discovery, police arrested the driver, 25-year-old Shrirajkumar Sah of Barahkshetra Municipality-4. Legal action and further investigation are ongoing.
