A 23-year-old Indian citizen was arrested at Tribhuvan International Airport with 4.48 kg of cannabis.
The man, identified as Shrinesh Kallekalthil, had arrived in Kathmandu on a Nepal Airlines flight from Bangkok.
Airport security found the cannabis hidden in his suitcase during routine checks. After the discovery, he was handed over to the Narcotics Control Bureau in Koteshwor for investigation.
The authorities are now conducting a deeper investigation into how the drugs were smuggled and if more people are involved.
