An international conference on digital crime will be held in Kathmandu, Nepal, on February 27 and 28, 2025. The event is organized by the Office of the Attorney General, and it will bring together over 90 government lawyers, legal experts, judges, and officials from 13 countries, including Nepal, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Maldives, South Korea, Azerbaijan, India, China, Sri Lanka, Norway, and Russia.
The conference aims to share international experiences in improving investigations, prosecutions, and judicial processes related to digital crime. It will focus on developing legal, policy, and institutional reforms.
The event will feature four plenary sessions and eight parallel sessions with discussions on topics such as online sexual violence, cybercrime, digital fraud, financial crimes, online exploitation, privacy violations, digital evidence collection, international legal cooperation, and the creation of cyber laws.
This conference is an important opportunity for Nepal to play an active role in judicial reforms, creating legal structures suited for technology, protecting human rights, and combating cybercrime.
