Delhi Capitals (DC) continued their winning streak in Vizag with a commanding seven-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Mitchell Starc’s incredible five-wicket haul and Faf du Plessis’ explosive fifty ensured DC’s chase was never in doubt.
Starc of DC Rattles SRH Early
SRH’s aggressive approach backfired once again as they collapsed for just 163. Mitchell Starc’s fiery spell dismantled their top order, with key wickets of Ishan Kishan and Travis Head. His figures of 5-35 were his career-best in T20s. SRH lost wickets at regular intervals, leaving them struggling at 37 for 4.

Aniket’s Heroics in Vain
Despite the top-order failure, young Aniket Verma played a sensational knock of 74 off 41 balls. His powerful hitting, including five fours and six sixes, gave SRH some hope. He found good support from Heinrich Klaasen, with whom he added 77 runs. However, DC’s bowlers, led by Kuldeep Yadav (3-22), cleaned up the lower order as SRH fell short of a strong total.
DC’s Chase: Du Plessis Sets the Tone
DC’s chase began in style with an 81-run opening partnership between Faf du Plessis and Fraser-McGurk. Du Plessis played a fluent knock of 50, attacking SRH’s bowlers from the start.
Although Zeeshan Ansari picked up three wickets in his T20 comeback, DC’s solid start made the target easy.
Porel Finishes It Off
Abhishek Porel (34*) and Tristan Stubbs guided DC home with 51 unbeaten runs, ensuring no late hiccups. DC comfortably chased down the target in just 16 overs, handing SRH their second consecutive loss.
With this win, DC continues to build momentum in this seasons IPL, while SRH needs to rethink their approach after back-to-back defeats.
